The Independence of Brazil involved a sequence of state and military developments that happened between 1821 and 1824.
Most of them concerned conflicts between Brazil and Portugal about the cry for freedom bestowed by the Brazilian Empire.
The event is celebrated on September 7, 1822, date ruler Prince Dom Pedro proclaimed Brazil’s independence of Portugal.
Formal acceptance came with a settlement signed between both countries in 1825.
