Vulcan Art Print – Live Long and Prosper

“Live Long and Prosper” – a Vulcan Art Print

Some time ago I wanted to make a symbolic pop work themed on the Star Trek series in celebration to its upcoming 50th anniversary.

After giving it a little bit of thought, I came up with what should have been to me the most obvious solution.

The famous Vulcan greeting

It is strange that it took me quite a bit to get to it, even though Mr Spock and the Vulcans are always my preferred characters.

The greeting has become, over the last 50 years one of the best well know icons of Pop Culture and has been repeated in all versions of the series.

The Series

Created by Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek is an American entertainment franchise that began as a TV series in 1966

Many spin-offs of Star Trek were created along the last 50 years: The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise.

All are considered part of the Star Trek mythology.

There is also a series of films that helped Star Trek win and be nominated for awards and honors.

I’m not a Star wars fan but I can immediately identify with this. I’m sure this will be really popular with the Treckies out there. I was actually looking for some baby prints and came across your site. If you could get a baby to make this sign I think it would be the cutest thing ever.
